Secured language in 2020 Democratic platform against war and U.S.-led regime change in Iran and committing to returning to the Iran deal if Biden wins. Additionally, NIAC’s efforts helped secure a DNC commitment to end the Muslim ban. NIAC led and supported numerous efforts to ensure these commitments were included in the platform, including a letter from NIAC encouraging commitments to return the Iran deal and to rescind the Muslim ban and joining a dozen other pro-diplomacy organizations to encourage the platform to support a JCPOA return. Separately, NIAC joined a coalition of more than 50 organizations calling for a progressive foreign policy that turns the page on war and regime change.
