Washington, DC – NIAC is pleased to release the transcript for the March 10, 2010 Conference “Iran at a Crossroads: Assessing a Changing Landscape.” The Conference was convened to address the latest issues facing US-Iran relations such as: the future of Iran’s opposition movement, the rising prospect of military action, and the result of increased sanctions on the Green Movement.
The Conference featured remarks from Congressman Keith Ellison and Congresswoman Anna Eshoo. The first panel of experts, entitled “A Century Old Struggle for Democracy,” moderated by Neil MacFarquhar, featured Prof. Ahmad Karimi Hakkak, Prof. Scott Lucas, and Prof. Muhammad Sahimi. The second panel, entitled “The US and Iran: Back to Confrontation?” moderated by NIAC President Dr. Trita Parsi, featured Ambassador Robert Hunter, Robert Malley and Prof. Juan Cole.
