Spotlighting Human Rights in Iran
Raising up the struggles faced by Iranian human rights defenders, activists, and journalists is essential to build a future in which the U.S. and Iran enjoy positive relations and truly represent the aspirations of their people.
As an American organization, NIAC does not have a role to play in the domestic affairs of Iran—only Iranians can decide such matters. But we do have an obligation to support international human rights standards to which the U.S. and Iran are party.
NIAC is dedicated to spotlighting human rights in Iran as a means of holding the Iranian government accountable to the international human rights standards to which it is a signatory. As part of this effort, every week NIAC highlights human rights-related cases as part of our ever-growing Human Rights Tracker.
