MEDIA AVAILABILITY: Experts Available to Discuss Choice of John Bolton as National Security Advisor

Washington, DC – Experts from the National Iranian American Council (NIAC) will be available to media to offer analysis of President Trump’s decision to choose John Bolton to replace H.R. McMaster as National Security Advisor.

Donald Trump may have just effectively declared war on Iran. With the appointment of John Bolton, and nomination of Mike Pompeo at State, Trump is clearly putting together a war cabinet. As the world awaits Trump’s May 12 decision as to whether he will abandon the Iran nuclear deal, all of the signs now point to a decision to move to war footing.

Iranian-American Organizations Demand Answers for Discriminatory Targeting of Sahar Nowrouzzadeh

Washington, DC – Seven organizations sent a letter on March 22, 2018, in response to the recent discriminatory firing of an Iranian-American civil servant, Sahar Nowrouzzadeh, who has dedicated her career to the service of this country. Efforts to discriminate against Sahar due to outside attacks first surfaced in April, 2017 when Politico reported on her reassignment from the Policy Planning Staff into a less influential role. Earlier this month, a second Politico revealed emails stating that the fact Sahar was “born in Iran” was used to question her loyalty to the Trump administration and the United States.

Think Again: Iran’s Missile Program

Instead of replacing nuclear escalation with missile escalation, the Trump administration and Congress should protect the gains of the nuclear accord and seek to build on them through serious diplomatic engagement. Failure to do so will risk the unraveling of the nuclear accord and the U.S. once again facing the threats of a nuclear-armed Iran or war.
