THANK YOU to all who helped make NIAC’s May 19th DC fundraiser a huge success, for the sake of peace and diplomacy with Iran — it was even covered by The Washington Post! Thanks to our generous DC, Virginia and Maryland supporters, we significantly beat our $60K fundraising goal by raising over 94k— and enjoyed a wonderful evening of inspiring words and delicious food!
During this special event, guests enjoyed hearing insightful remarks from two champions for diplomacy, Congressman Keith Ellison and Congressman Earl Blumenauer. The Congressmen both stressed the importance of diplomacy with Iran and shared insights into what our community can do to ensure that Congress votes for peace this summer and secures an Iran deal.
We want to extend a huge thank you to our host committee member and incredibly gracious host, Amy Zarafshar, for all her hard work and for generously hosting us at her beautiful home in McLean. Of course, the event could not have happened without the leadership and hard work of our amazing Host Committee; major thanks to Farrokh Alemi, Mastee Badii, Roshan Badii Carter, Nadereh Chamlou, Marsha Ershaghi-Hames, Bita & Paymaun Lotfi, Fay Moghtader, Forough Parvizian-Yazdani, Lyne Picard, Nader Sadeghi.
Many thanks to our talented photographer, Amir McCormick for documenting this special event. Last but not least, thank you to our dear volunteers, Sepideh Phalsaphie and Sohaela Amiri and our wonderful NIAC interns, Ala Hashemi-Haeri and Parsa Ghahramani for doing so much of the behind the scenes work that made this night a success!
