We do not share or sell donors’ personal information with unrelated parties nor send donor mailings from unrelated organizations.
We ask to collect your data (specifically outlined below, but generally basic information like your email and phone number). We ask for this to be able to share important organizational updates and send content that is relevant and matches your preferences.
We will not share this data with anyone except between our two entities (NIAC and NIAC Action) and service providers unless you explicitly consent to us doing so.
We honor your right to privacy and will comply with your wishes to remove your data from our systems, if you request us to do so, but please note that we may need to retain certain financial records for legal and accounting record keeping purposes.
Our Commitment to Privacy
Privacy and data protection are hot topic issues widely discussed around the world. You deserve to know how we collect and use the data you provide to us, and that’s what we are providing to you on this page.
How We Use Your Information
We use the data you provide to us for the following purposes:
- Contact you if you give us permission to do so with content and information about events.
- In specific cases we may use the data you give us, like email address or pixels, to target you with ads on third party advertisers.
- Better understand our audience such as key regions and demographics that constitute our core supporter base.
We will store this information to keep you informed about other relevant issues that may be of interest to you but we will never use or share the information provided to us online in ways unrelated to our organization’s mission.
Some information, such as IP and your email address, may be shared with third parties who help us run our website and email programs. Consenting to allow us to process and store your data such as email, phone and zip is optional.
However, revoking consent will prevent us from delivering the content, events and other experiences to you as mentioned above.
The Information We Collect
Across our web platform and events, you will be presented with the opportunity to sign up for newsletters, attend events and trainings, submit your information to contact your lawmakers and other leaders on issues of importance to you.
The type of information collected on those pages generally includes but is not limited to:
- Email address
- Issue interests
- Zip code
- Phone number
When you make an online contribution, you will also be asked to submit your credit card information. The credit card information is used solely to process your payment and is never stored on any of our servers. The transmission of this information is encrypted using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology.
Based on the information you provide to us, we may create or append other information to your profile in the interest of better serving you (for example, your interests). As is the case with all data we collect, this will be kept private and for our business purposes only.
How to Ask Us to Update or Delete Your Data
If you would like to unsubscribe from our communications at any time, you may also do so in the footer of any of our emails. If you would like us to delete your information entirely, please send an email to the address below. Otherwise, by continuing to interact with our emails and programs, you provide us with permission to manage and use your data as described above.
