Salehi Speaks about Second Enrichment Site

State-run media is reporting on an official statement issued by Dr. Ali Akbar Salehi, the President of Iran Atomic Energy Organization, confirming the news of ongoing construction of a second enrichment plant in Iran. Before the announcement, it was believed that Natanz was the only existing enrichment plant in Iran.

In the Name of God
Islamic Republic of Iran has taken another successful step based on its undeniable rights to reach peaceful nuclear energy, and has constructed another semi-industrial enrichment plant in the country. The plant has been under construction, considering all the measures including automatic defense system. The second plant as other nuclear sites in Iran will be operated based on the IAEA regularities.
The Iran Atomic Energy Organization congratulates the Supreme Leader and the respectful people of Iran for this important success which is leading the country to progress and development in its nuclear industry.
