NIAC sent a letter to the Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) warning that sanctions may bar many Iranian students from continuing their education amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The letter called on the OFAC to take immediate steps to rectify this issue, including the issuance of a new general license that would allow Iranian students to complete more online coursework from Iran.
