ETAN MABOURAKH

Community & Advocacy Associate

A University of Pennsylvania graduate with a degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics, Etan brings expertise in digital communications, organizing, and campaign strategy to NIAC. He has played a key role in NIAC’s expanding grassroots capacity through NIAC’s nationwide chapter system, which spans all 50 states and includes 15 dedicated chapters. Etan has cultivated grass-tops leaders from the Iranian American community in New York, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Nevada, Virginia, and around the country empowering volunteers to engage with lawmakers, create community spaces, and elevate Iranian American voices and culture.

In 2024 Etan lead NIAC’s New York chapter in mobilizing a coalition of over 95 New York-based organizations in urging Senators to support joint resolutions of disapproval concerning U.S. arms sales to Israel. NIAC’s grassroots organizing program is set to expand with new chapters planned in Texas, Nevada, North Carolina and more in 2025.

Etan has consulted on campaigns for the NY State Senate, Mayor, Borough President, and City Council and brings a background in digital communications, grassroots organizing, community outreach, and campaign strategy. He has also helped organize campaigns on the municipal and federal levels for mental health resources, global health equity, and political accountability. Etan joined NIAC after a spell playing professional soccer in New York City. He loves spending time with his family, coaching goalkeepers, writing, and cooking tahdig.
