Ted Cruz’s Dangerous Pick for Foreign Policy Advisor

gaffney-cruzLast month Ted Cruz selected far-right, Iran war supporter Frank Gaffney as a top foreign policy advisor.

In a city full of war hawks, Gaffney is renowned for inventing claims that President Obama is a Muslim and is aiding America’s enemies, accusing Hillary Clinton of being “associated with the Muslim Brotherhood”, and claiming that Iran “was very much involved in and arguably indispensable to the attacks of 9/11.”

Gaffney’s “think tank”, the Center for Security Policy (CSP), has been at the center of many attacks against NIAC and our successful efforts to prevent war between the U.S. and Iran. Teaming up with the MEK, his Center even produced a “report” accusing NIAC and several Obama administration officials of being a lobby for Iran in Washington, in order to prevent Iranian-Americans from having a voice in Washington.

Now, Senator Cruz has added some of Gaffney’s colleagues from CSP to his list of advisors – virtually endorsing all of Gaffney’s hateful rhetoric and adopting it as his foreign policy planA plan that would also include war with Iran.

With such looming threats, we can’t afford to sit idly by as those who seek to weaken the Iranian-American community continue to raise their voices.

We must not, and we cannot, allow all of our hard work be rolled back by a tide of prejudice.

For the past several months NIAC has been in touch with a number of presidential campaigns on key issues related to Iran and the Iranian-American community. Thanks to your support and advocacy we’ve been able to make sure that the concerns of the Iranian-American community are taken into account.

But your investment in NIAC is needed to continue our push forward in defending what is right against those who seek to deny us our rights as citizens – whether it is the latest visa discrimination or the hateful rhetoric against our and other Middle Eastern communities.

Help us make make sure that bigotry against Iranian-Americans becomes as unacceptable as racism against any other community in the United States, by donating $100 (or any amount that is right for you) today.

Thank you for your support!
