Washington, DC – On June 30th through July 11th, Iranian Alliances Across Borders (IAAB) will launch its Summer Leadership Institute in Los Angeles, CA. The Summer Leadership Institute includes the 7th year of Camp Ayandeh, IAAB’s high school leadership camp for Iranian Americans, as well as IAAB’s first camp for middle school students- Camp Javan. “We’re excited to be building off of the success of Camp Ayandeh in order to better serve the younger generation of students with Camp Javan. These students will walk away with lasting friendships, tools for personal growth and success, and an appreciation for our Iranian culture and heritage,” said Mana Kharrazi, IAAB’s Executive Director.

An increase in demand both from parents and students alike led IAAB to launch this new initiative. By combining Camp Ayandeh with Camp Javan, middle school students will have the opportunity to learn from their high school peers by forming mentor/mentee relationships that will serve them for years to come. IAAB strives to leave campers with the skills necessary to succeed both within and outside the Iranian-American community. Both camps will include community building activities, cultural and historical workshops, leadership opportunities, and critical discussions that aim to assist campers in responding to the issues that face the Iranian-American youth.

There is still space for more participants. If you are interested in attending Camp Ayandeh from July 3-11 please visit IAAB’s page. IAAB is a non-religious, non-political organization and the Summer Leadership Institute is open to all races and creeds.
