“The Trump administration broke the international consensus around Iran that took years to build,” said Suzanne DiMaggio, senior fellow at Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. “I think this will go down as an epic strategic blunder during the Trump Era.” DiMaggio was speaking on NIAC’s recent panel examining current and future U.S. policy toward Iran, entitled “A Maximum Pressure Exit Strategy: Can the U.S. Save the Iran Nuclear Deal Before it’s Too Late?” Joining DiMaggio as panelists were Jamal Abdi, President of NIAC, and Joe Cirincione, President of the Ploughshares Fund. Organizations in New Mexico state delivered a letter calling on the U.S. Senators Heinrich and Lujan to support a ceasefire in Gaza as well as further legislative initiatives to ensure that U.S. military aid to Israel and other countries complies with U.S. and international law.

15+ local organizations with an Illinois state presence delivered a letter calling on the U.S. Senators Duckworth and Durbin to support a ceasefire in Gaza as well as further legislative initiatives to ensure that U.S. military aid to Israel and other countries complies with U.S. and international law. Senator Durbin has previously called for a conditional ceasefire and supported certain legislation to apply human rights law to U.S. military funding, but Senator Duckworth has not joined her colleague in these positions.

41 prominent local organizations and individuals in Colorado state delivered a letter calling on the U.S. Senators Bennet and Hickenlooper to support a ceasefire in Gaza as well as further legislative initiatives to ensure that U.S. military aid to Israel and other countries complies with U.S. and international law. Senators Bennet and Hickenlooper have yet to publicly express support for a ceasefire and other measures to end the war in Gaza.
