Less than two weeks after the supreme leader ordered the closure of Kahrizak prison, the commander of the armed forces has announced Iran will reopen a refurbished prison there shortly. Kahrizak was closed after the inhumane conditions there had led to the deaths of several detainees.
According to Rooz Online, Commander Ahmadi Moqadam has said that the new prison will be ready in one month.  The new prison will be under the supervision of the department of prisons instead of the armed forces.  Kahrizak prison was operated by IRGC.
