Government filters Yahoo & Gmail on Quds Day

According to Mowjcamp, Yahoo! and Gmail have been filtered today (Quds Day) by Iranian authorities. Internet has been the main channel of communication between Iranian civil society, the disapora, and the rest of the world since disputed 12 June election. Many Iranians widely use Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and various instant messenger programs, as well traditional E-mail, to share the latest details of the post-election unrest with people abroad. Although the government previously filtered social networking sites, people have had access to their E-mail accounts. However, the government has decreased the internet speed in Iran in order to make it time consuming, and thus frustrating, for people to attach files to their e-mails.
