Justice for Shayan Mazroei Rally in Santa Ana, CA

Shayan Mazroei -- a 22 year-old Iranian American college student -- was viciously stabbed to death by a known white supremacist gang member, Craig Tanber, in Laguna Niguel California on September 6, 2015. Tanber’s longtime girlfriend, Elizabeth Thornburg, was heard by witnesses yelling racial slurs at Shayan and spitting on him, on video, at least three times before Tanber stabbed him to death.

Superior Court of Orange County
700 W Civic Center Drive
Santa Ana, CA 92701

Thornburg has not been charged with any crime in connection with the killing of Shayan Mazroei. Tanber is set to stand trial later this year, but has not been charged with a hate crime.

Make no mistake, Shayan Mazroei was stabbed to death because he was Iranian American -- a fact known to Tanber and Thornburg because of Shayan’s Persian inspired tattoo on his forearm that read ‘eshgh’ in Farsi script, which translates to ‘love.’

Shayan was the only son of Shahzad and Hamid. He loved his dog, Simba. He had his whole future ahead of him.

Join us on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 on what would have been Shayan’s 25th birthday as we gather in front of the Orange County Superior Courthouse in Santa Ana, California to demand #JusticeForShayan!
