California Democratic Party Assembly delegate, Hanieh Jodat is an organizer with RootsAction, the National Coordinator of Lift the Sanctions Campaign with Progressive Democrats of America-Middle East Alliances, President and co-founder of Muslim Delegates, and a 2020 DNC delegate for Bernie Sanders. She is a founding and former board member of Women’s March L.A, a published author and has recently served as the co-Political, and Constituency Director for Congressional candidate, Nina Turner. As an Assembly Delegate, Hanieh has been appointed to serve on the California Democratic Party’s Resolution Committee, and in 2021, her resolution to address creating a global pandemic treaty and providing immediate vaccine access and sanctions relief addressing COVAX delays and medical equity passed the California Democratic Party.

For her work in activism, she is honored to have been recognized by the National Iranian American Council as 40 under 40, the City of Los Angeles, the Board of Los Angeles County Supervisors, and the City of West Hollywood, and has received the award of appreciation from USA for United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
