Thank Supporters of Peace & Diplomacy: Call Congress to #ReSealTheDeal

Diplomacy is under attack. On April 6th, The below Democratic Members of the House organized a press conference to undermine the President’s ongoing nuclear negotiations with Iran to try and prevent the U.S. from returning to the JCPOA.

Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5); Donald Norcross (NJ-1); Elaine Luria (VA-2); Jared Golden (ME-2); Jim Costa (CA-16); Juan Vargas (CA-51); Vincente Gonzalez (TX-15); Dean Phillips (MN-3); Haley Stevens (MI-11); Tom Suozzi (NY-11); Brendan Boyle (PA-2); Darren Soto (FL-9); Val Demings (FL-10); Lois Frankel (FL-21); Grace Meng (NY-16); Kathy Manning (NC-6); Susie Lee (NV-3); Shontel Brown (OH-11) Read our response here.

We are proud of the members who supported peace and diplomacy throughout this process, if you do not see your member listed among the above, please call them and thank them for supporting resealing the nuclear deal.

Take Action: Call Your Member of Congress

Ask them to support the restoration of the Iran nuclear deal, not side with warhawks, Trump and Pompeo.

Step 1: Find your house representative and your senators and pick a time before 5 PM ET to call.

Step 2: Dial 844-ACT-NIAC (844-228-6422) to connect with the Capitol Switchboard and ask the operator to connect you to your representative’s office.

Step 3: When you connect with the office, whether it’s with a person or the voicemail, make sure to say your name and that you are a constituent and that you strongly back your Member of Congress’ support of the JCPOA

Here is a sample script you can use, but you are encouraged to share your personal reasons for why you want your representatives to support the JCPOA and not side with Trump’s failed approach:

“Hello my name is [YOUR NAME] and I’m a constituent from [YOUR CITY/TOWN]. I’m calling to thank [REP] for their support of President Biden’s efforts to return to the Iran nuclear deal, also known as the JCPOA. I’m extremely disappointed in the few Democratic members in the House siding with Donald Trump’s failed approach that would take the U.S. down a path to war.

I’m calling to urge [REP] to bring their colleagues to support a renewed Iran nuclear deal so we can avoid yet another war and end crushing sanctions on the Iranian people.

As military conflicts rage across the world today, we are reminded of the high costs of failed diplomacy. A return to the JCPOA would ease tensions with Iran and restore long-lasting restraints to Iran’s nuclear program. ”

Step 4: Text 5 of your friends or family members to ask them to make a call as well! The more calls we can generate, the more likely we are to win.
