Thank you for taking action by signing our action alert to urge your Senators to sign the Kaine-Murphy letter supporting a mutual return to the Iran nuclear deal (JCPOA). The deadline for them to add their names is this Wednesday, so they don’t have much time left! That’s why calling your Senators will go a long way in making sure they sign on to the letter.
We need the Senate to step up and put additional pressure on the Biden administration for a swift and decisive return to the JCPOA. Can you take a minute to call your Senators right now and ask them to sign the Kaine-Murphy letter?
Step 1: Find your your senators and pick a time before 5 PM ET to call.
Step 2: Dial 844-ACT-NIAC (844-228-6422) to connect with the Capitol Switchboard and ask the operator to connect you to your Senators’ offices. You’ll have to call twice so they can connect you to each office one at a time.
Step 3: When you connect with the office, whether it’s with a person or the voicemail, make sure to say your name and that you are a constituent and share your concern about the Iran nuclear deal. Here is a sample script:
“My name is [your name] I am a constituent from [your town] calling to ask [your Senator] to sign the Murphy-Kaine letter backing a compliance-for-compliance return to the nuclear deal with Iran. After years of punishing sanctions and escalating tensions that risked war, the U.S. has a limited window to return to the successful and historic nuclear agreement. President Biden must restore the deal as a first step to end Trump’s damaging policies. Can I count on [your Senator] to sign the Murphy-Kaine letter urging Biden to rejoin the nuclear deal with Iran as a starting point for broader diplomacy?
Step 4: Text 5 of your friends or family members to ask them to make a call as well! The more calls we can generate, the more likely we are to win.
