The National Iranian American Council (NIAC) is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing civic engagement by the Iranian-American community and conducting research and education on issues important to our community, including peace and diplomacy, equitable immigration, and civil rights.

Founded in 2002, NIAC has grown to become the largest Iranian-American grassroots organization in the country and a trusted source for elected officials, policymakers, and the media on issues important to Iranian Americans.

NIAC accomplishes its mission through efforts including registering Iranian-American voters, placing young leaders in Congressional fellowships, conducting briefings for policymakers, producing reports and nonpartisan analysis, and advocating for our community on civil rights issues like banking discrimination and travel restrictions.

NIAC is 100% independent and is funded exclusively by our supporters in the Iranian-American and broader American community, and prominent U.S. foundations.
