NIAC strongly supports H.R.4303, the Stand With the Iranian People Act (SWIPA), important human rights legislation that eases restrictions that prevent American NGOs from providing direct humanitarian relief to the people of Iran. SWIPA--introduced by Reps. Keith Ellison, Bill Delahunt, and Gregory Meeks--also imposes tough, targeted sanctions against the human rights abusers in the Iranian Government as well as the companies that provide them with the tools of repression.
