Relief International Offers Fellowships to Iranian-American Students

Relief International, an Iranian-American aid organization that provided humanitarian relief to Iran after the Bam earthquake, is now offering four fellowships to qualified students of Iranian descent who are interested in international development and committed to humanitarian relief.

now offering four fellowships to qualified students of Iranian descent who are
interested in international development and committed to humanitarian relief.
The PARSA-Relief International Fellowships foster research, project management, and leadership skills for Iranian Americans
looking to pursue careers in international public policy and
development.
Applicants must have an average GPA of at least 3.5
and be committed to working 15-20 hours weekly for a period of six to nine
months. Applicants should also have a general knowledge of world affairs and
international/intergovernmental institutions. One of the four fellows will be
selected for an international posting in one of RI’s field offices after the
successful completion of the domestic fellowship. PARSA fellows will receive
$750 per month, and the student chosen for the international component will
receive an additional stipend plus the cost of airfare.
To be considered for this position, applicants are encouraged to submit a cover
letter, resume, writing sample, proof of current
enrollment in a full-time US or UK university, 3 supervisory references
(name, email and phone number), and a date of availability for an interview to Intern@ri.org. The email subject line should include
the following: “PARSA Fellowship.” The deadline to apply for the fellowship is June
30, 2010.
Relief International was originally founded in 1990 by an Iranian American in
response to the Roudbar earthquake in Iran. It has now become a leading
