Image Emily Blout joined NIAC in mid April and is currently serving as NIAC's Legislative Director. Before joining NIAC, Ms. Blout worked at a prominent lobbying and public relations firm in Boston, Massachusetts. During her tenure there, Ms. Blout worked on the successful election campaign of Timothy Murray for Lt. Governor, spearheaded the radio reelection campaign for Senator Edward Kennedy, and did public relations work for US Representative Stephen Lynch. Emily also worked closely with the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe in the final months of their 20 year struggle to gain Federal recognition.

Emily graduated with a BA from Union College in New York. She double majored in English and Political Science with a concentration in International Relations. Her thesis on the European Union security initiative and trans-Atlantic security partnership earned department honors and was nominated for several awards. She has done internships at the New York State Division of the Budget and Deloitte and Touche LLP. Emily looks forward to attending law school in the near future to study international and constitutional law.
