Emily Blout joined NIAC in mid April and is currently
serving as NIAC's Legislative Director. Before joining NIAC, Ms. Blout worked at a prominent lobbying
and public relations firm in Boston, Massachusetts. During her tenure
there, Ms. Blout worked on the successful election campaign of Timothy
Murray for Lt. Governor, spearheaded the radio reelection campaign for
Senator Edward Kennedy, and did public relations work for US
Representative Stephen Lynch. Emily also worked closely with the
Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe in the final months of their 20 year struggle
to gain Federal recognition.
Emily graduated with a BA from Union College in New York.
She double majored in English and Political Science with a
concentration in International Relations. Her thesis on the European
Union security initiative and trans-Atlantic security partnership
earned department honors and was nominated for several awards. She has
done internships at the New York State Division of the Budget and
Deloitte and Touche LLP.
Emily looks forward to attending law school in the near future to study
international and constitutional law.
